Well I had to stop at all 3
Over 2 hrs waiting in line combined
My order is
1) Best Stop
2) Dons
3) Billies
I did get the boudin balls at Billies since quite a few bragged about that in this thread and it’s very legit .
So although they have the 3rd best boudin I might like the boudin balls more then anything i had

The cult of Karchtners on here is laughable
What?
There is no cult. Some of us buy their products (smoked sausage and boudin in my case), consider it good and share our opinions.
I think their boudin is on par with Billy's and their smoked sausage with Teets and Rabideaux's.
Glad they opened a store off Exit 97. Much closer than Krotz Springs.

Not hurting my feelings buddy. If you like overly peppered greasy boudin more power to you.

Best Stop once gave me a free dozen balls as they were closing. They'll always get my vote.
Kartchners did this for me one time. Loyal customer from there on out.

Which sausage do they have that’s comparable to Rabideaux’s?
Not being a smart arse. I’ll gladly give them more accolades if they can match Rabideaux’s.

Their smoked sausage.
Rabideaux's smoked andouille is the gold standard IMO. But Teets and Kartchners are both very good. Try 'em when you can.
Bought 5 lbs from Teets during a hurricane detour through Ville Platte and have enjoyed every bite.

Thanks. I may be their next fan boy if the can give me an alternative to Rabideaux’s. I love Rabideaux’s, but I can’t get it East of Laffy.

If you have access to Rabideaux's then for smoked sausage stuff Teets and Kartchners won't do a whole lot for you. But they're both very good.
LA has such an embarrassment of riches when it comes to specialty meats.

Call me crazy, but Best Stop is my least favorite at that exit. I enjoy their boudin balls but something about the boudin itself throws me off, though I won't turn it down.
For me personally:
1A - Kartchner's
1B - Billy's
2 - Nunu's
3 - Don's
4 - Best Stop
That said, all five would be World Class tier if ranking boudin across the country.

NuNu flys below the radar but has some delicious meats
Their Steen's syrup sausage.

Also, the chicken sausage make a mighty fine meal for grease gravy over rice.

I guess when someone asks for best boudin, I think best regular link. I don’t consider smoked, crawfish, etc. link variants.
Example being, Peto’s in Roanoke has a decent smoked linked (and awesome smoked sausage). But their regular link is garbage. Adding smoke can help cover up bad to average regular links.

My personal favorites are Mr.T’s in Elton, Janise’s in Sunset, Nunu’s, & Bourque’s in Port Barre. If you are looking for a liver-y boudin try Ray’s in Opelousas. I had some a few weeks ago and it was good, if you like liver. Kartchner’s makes a good product. Best Stop was the best 12-15 years ago but not anymore. Never cared for Don’s, and I’ve always thought that Billy’s regular boudin is somewhat overrated (though I know I’m in the minority on that one). Next place on my hit list is Sonniers, which I’ve heard good things about. Market Basket on Nelson is solid also
