Who comes up with the food challenges?

Visited a few times and always leave impressed. Would love to see one themed after the typical kitchen pantry. No special ingredients, no special meats, etc. Only things found in most people’s pantry.

The winners pick the next ingredient or theme. 
Ground meat is coming up, I believe.
We do a pretty good job at picking themes and/or ingredients that are approachable and accessible, without being so broad that nothing is cohesive in the results. I've been very happy with the way it has gone so far.

I'm now a lurker after being a regular contestant in the old Fun Bunch Chopped challenges and I'm liking what I'm seeing.

The objective of the challenge is to get people to share what they cook in a fun way. Not just the picture of the final product, but all the steps along the way, as well. It gives all of us ideas for future dishes at the family table.
As an added bonus, I think it also gets people to step up their game and cook something that they would not normally cook.

This is true. Nothing I've submitted has been something I couldn't cook obviously, but its been fun to seek out recipes that take more time than I normally spend. The other added bonus for me is we involve our son. He is very interested in cooking, so it's fun to have a little sous chef.
He's getting some Master Chef junior stuff for Christmas, maybe he can participate in the future.

Bringing in a ringer?
We all have cooked steak, but to compete in a challenge, you gotta have more than just a piece of grilled meat.
I'm looking forward to the ground meat challenge, because you can go so many different directions with it and it will require creativity. I probably won't do well in it because I'm living in a condo with no grill and limited cooking vessels, right now, but I'll do something.

Mines not very creative, but I'm doing it this weekend when we host the East TN alumni association LSU watch party. So it's gotta feed a crew and be a crowd pleaser.
