These guys made a fan of me after a few pours of that rye. Then that Tokaji put me on notice about their finishing abilities. Curious to see how a couple more years on their whiskey changes things. The majority of what I see is 4-5 years old but drinks 2x that easily.

It's good. I will have to do a head to head with the good times group pick soon, but starlight has more of the herbal notes. Glad to have both.

Thought that looked like the hill country. Get to the Shady Llama north of town if you can. South of town is Roughhouse brewing and a great dive bar called Devil's Backbone Tavern.

I let this sit for a bit hoping it would mellow but it did not. I regret buying 2 bottles. It's just not up to what we expect from EC BP. Not necessary hot but just not a lot going on, not complex we expect from BP

That's disappointing. The standard releases are consistently good so I guess it's easy to take for granted. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the market for those. Topping the traditional releases might be a challenge, especially with the younger ages on average. It'll be harder to justify the extra 20 bucks.
One advantage of doing inventory is the reminder about good bottles that got pushed out of sight. This is a good example.

I’ll admit I’m a starlight fan

Can someone let me know what Starlight is “the one” ? Or all they all kinda good ? Ide like to grab one but would like an recommendation

Starlight is like Good Times and they specialize in finished in other barrels. I would suggest Starlight puts out a better product but all the barrel finished stuff is delish. I like their non-finished barrel, the rum and the VND the most but like them all.
