I got a Stagg Jr. Batch #17 for retail, $49.99, as a Walk Up Customer in the Alabama Lottery Sweepstakes back in December. Batch #17 is the last one with "Jr." on the label, it will be called just Stagg from now on.

MDS did you happen to taste their Blue Note Uncut pick? I saw they just got it in recently and I’m really interested in if it’s any good. I have a regular Blue Note that I’m enjoying so I imagine the cask strength barrel pick has to be good.

I didn’t. There were too many to try them all. I want to go back soon and try the rest to see if any others are must buys for me

They were probably out but the Stellum Green Rye (Buttercream Spice) was fantastic.

Got to try this 70s Beam product last week. It was so delicious; I had to get a bottle for myself.

Scratch that. In mood for cocktail, so I put that Aberlour aside for later and threw together a scotch cocktail that we had at a bar a few weeks back. 1.5oz blended scotch, 1.5oz honey ginger syrup, 1oz lemon juice and two sprays of peated scotch. Killer good.

Thats looks really good

It is. My wife loved it, so this is my way of getting her into scotch. Bartender told me how he makes it, so I’ve been mixing them up at the house.
Making the honey finer syrup is the main work. Take your basic honey syrup recipe but while it’s simmering throw in sliced ginger. Let it sit for about 20 minutes then strain
From there mix based on the measurements I posted above and you’re good to go. Seriously you should try it out. I highly recommend it. I do a bit more scotch for me, so mess with the proportions to find what you like

Good afternoon. Starting off with a cocktail.

This rum game has come a long way. I’m digging it. As someone posted in that rum thread, it really pairs well with a cigar. I’m out here grilling and enjoying spring.
