Yep, it's a blend. For what I paid (55), I'd recommend. It's a classic rye profile that should be great for old fashioneds, but is enjoyable neat. I've only had a few pours though.

Pikesville is one of my favorite bases for Manhattans. Cherry bomb.

Power is out (Entergy still has some work to do from hurricane) so might as well have a third. If you like mint, this the bottle for you.

Yeah buddy, sure do. Jason had mentioned that these were rumored to be Four Roses sourced when I went taste test it. I never had a barrel proof Four Roses so I can't vouch for that, but this tasted like a barrel proof Four Roses Small Batch Select when I first cracked it. Now, it has a bit more of that Beam nuttiness so idk. What're your thoughts on this one?

I get a ton of cinnamon, a bit of licorice, maybe a tiny bit of nuttiness (nothing like a Bookers though). I’m pretty stumped really, I read somewhere that it was assumed that most of their Kentucky sourced product was Barton, but it’s definitely not Barton. I guess it could be Beam, but I don’t drink a whole lot of Knob Creek single barrels to compare it to. Could possibly be Four Roses, but they have so many recipes, it’s hard to nail down a particular profile for them. It kinda seems similar to the OC LA-1 batch to me, but that is MGP, which this obviously isn’t. Could possibly be Wild Turkey, but do they provide bourbon for sourcing? It’s also rumored that some Barrell picks are Willett, but I don’t think Willett has any 8 year of their own product yet (or do they?).

My first thought when reading "Kentucky Sourced" on the back of the label was Barton seeing as they do a ton of sourcing, but this is nothing like Barton or Brown-Forman (none of that banana etc). Never had Willett Bourbon so I can't vouch. I just can't get Beam out of my head. This tastes like an exceptional Knob Creek Single Barrel or a very good Bookers to me. Not sure if Beam sources though... either way, a mix of Beam, Turkey, and Four Roses notes is the shite.

The Willett single barrel I have is very heavy on cinnamon, but I don’t think they have 8 year stuff yet.
I’m gonna bring a sample to a buddy that’s been drinking whiskey for longer than I’ve been alive and see what he says
