About 30-40 proof difference is definitely noticeable, the flavors are much more concentrated, but you will have to fight through the alcohol if you aren’t used to barrel Proof

Tell me you're a whiskey noob without telling me
(not making fun, we all started there) The barrel proof will have a much stronger burn, and only 3 batches are released each year. Each one will taste similar but unique.

Single Barrel for The EC Small Batch would be a barrel pick done by a store or group. It will be at the standard 94 proof but will taste a little different than the standard flavor profile. So people pick better than others, so it will take some time to figure out who does barrel picks that you enjoy the most. It's fun to have several picks of a whiskey and do a blind tasting with them.
