Resident bourbon junkies lend me your ears. I recently won a raffle that allows me to choose a bottle of my choice. Quick research shows these as the two top “price value” bottles. There are bottles of Blantons available, but I think I’d rather one of these two.
Has anyone had these pours? If you had the option what one of these would you pick?

The first is Old Carter. It’s a 13 year and comes in at 135 proof.

The second is Cream of Kentucky which is a 12.3yr coming in at 102 proof.

I take it you’ve had it? Do you have a comparable bottle? Was it not too “hot” at 135 proof?

I wasn't impressed, especially for the price. 11 of us did a blind tasting where we put it up against 3 bourbons under $30. None of us had ever tried the OS13 and none of us knew what all was on the table. Ranked from top to bottom and our average score for each (scale goes from 0-4):

2.79 4 Roses Small Batch
2.54 Coopers Craft Barrel Reserve
2.43 Old Grandad BIB
1.95 Old Soul 13
