Should have been around in the first bourbon thread. A few of us kept saying we scored at the piggly wiggly’s and there were people that went.

Who knew 7 years later there would actually be a PW that turned out some barrel pics

I know this was directed to t00f but I wanted to chime in to say I deal 98% with Jeff. I’ve gotten a few hard to get bottles from him but what I appreciate more is his vast knowledge of whisky in general. Any bottle he recommends me I usually walk out with and have yet to be disappointed. He’s pretty spot on with with his picks according to my flavor profile and he’s turned me on to some regularly available, moderately priced stuff.

And then there was the time an empty bottle of pappy was filled with a cheap bourbon and put on the table at endymion where it was mixed with coke

Classics

I was just thinking about that a few days ago. Someone said something about slipping some cheep bourbon into a eht tube.

Also to note benchmark has a line of fancy bottles now...single barrel, barrel roof and the likes. I asked my republic rep about it and I’m told benchmark is waiting for Louisiana to do more business before it comes here. That’s funny to me. If it’s even true.

You hadn’t seen them before? I bet it’s not half bad some of them. I’d like to get my hands on some one day.

I think he did it twice. People would come up and ask him for a taste and then pretend like it was really good. He said it was great to watch them

Way I look at it you traded a 80 bottle for 6 60 (or what ever msrp is supposed to be these days) dollar bottles So yes I say so. Blantons to me is ehh. Not bad don’t get me wrong. But not hype worthy IMO. Like etl to me. I love handy...makes a mean old fashion. But...you got 6 bottles for 1 so that’s not a bad thing lol.
