That starlight LR pick was my first amburana experience and still my favorite.

This was actually the starlight rye, not the bourbon. But both are better than the NULU. I’m a fan of amburana finishes and no one does them as well as starlight does in my opinion.

I didn't realize there was a rye version too. After buying like 9 different bottles from them (starlight) within a year's time, I stopped paying attention to releases. It was simply getting too expensive to keep up. My two favorites to date are the LR Amburana and Maisano's White Port.

Second is an Acquistipace pick from last year. I recently had their family reserve single barrel (just under 7 years) and was really impressed. They're doing a lot of interesting finishes, but like starlight, the base is solid.

Good evening gentlemen. Not much left in this one. When are these going to start showing up in Louisiana?

Good evening gentlemen. I have only tried one of those. It was pretty impressive.

This is my first experience with Frey ranch.

Good afternoon gentlemen. I finally pulled the trigger on something outside of whiskey (and related cocktails). But the background should make me compliant with the theme of the thread. Everything else is whiskey.

I'd been telling people for years that rum was too sweet for me. I always reserved it for cocktails previously. Apparently I just hadn't tried the right stuff. This is balanced and more importantly, delicious.
The Bardstown collab is what pushed me over the edge. I also had a sample of the Redoubtable release so I don't think it's a fluke. It's something I'll have to keep at the home bar.

I don’t have a lot of rum either but that stuff is $$.

I had the Bardstown collab at New Orleans Bourbon Fest (shocked they had it out) and its a very nice pour.
