Looking at menu for Olive or Twist and prices seem steep. GTS for $24 a pour? Got it for $15 at a local restaurant and it was a damn near half glass pour (likely due to the fact we had been chatting with bartender for a while)

Being a poster didn't help me. I was shut out. But it was a good time. Plenty of wine and Bourbon to taste. It was well done. Good job LSUcdro

One of the guys I worked with in BR went last year....that was before I got into bourbon as much as I did. Then I moved away from BR

The thing that I do not like about the drawing is that regular customers that spend money throughout the year in your store are not rewarded for their loyalty. You have people that only go there on the drawing date with the same chance to win as someone who is a regular customer and spends money there ALL year. I could endorse a system that tracks your purchases throughout the year and gives you X number of entries per dollars spent. This is 2015 and such a system should not be hard to devise. Instead we are stuck filling out entry forms and stuffing them in a cardboard box.

I got zero sympathy for your view when you swoop up half of the Cure Oak in BR and immediately try and trade/sell two of them

I can tell you they don't track purchases throughout the year for extra raffle drawings.
Also I'm sure I'm in the minority in this but I like the raffle system. It does mean that the majority of us won't get a bottle of something which sucks but it's a level playing field. Yes some sort of loyalty program would be awesome at a place like Calandros but that isn't how they operate. Maybe one day they could look into that. I prefer that to how other places do it. Some places up charge insane prices where you don't want to buy it from them. Others is based solely on a loyalty factor which is great if you are one of the few people that get the bottles. But those places have been doing it that way for years now and the same guys have been getting bottles for years now. Some of us are much newer to the bourbon lifestyle than others and at least with this there is a chance of getting something cool.
It's not a perfect system but I feel like it's the best for what's out there. Now I do think I speak for most everyone, if you win a bottle of pappy at a lottery, you better drink it and not try and flip it for a grand. We hate those people.

Yeah they also had that Knob Creek. Those were some good bottles. I had to buy half a dozen the last year.
