I vat a 60/40 ratio of ECBP and EC 12 and its delicious. Comes in somewhere around 110 proof but you can play with the percentages for a different taste like you do with Poor Man's Pappy.
Interesting. I have some of both and may try this.
Also i've got some 60/40 PMP that has been mingling for 17 days now. May dive in soon!

I have a few small sample bottles poured from a while back. Let me know if you are in BR and want to meet up and I will bring you a sample bottle to try.

Fen, you're a scotch man. What do you think of Macallan cask strength? Thinking of getting one

Never had the Cask Strength, saw it on the shelf once and it looked pretty if that helps. I've only had Mac12, Mac15 Fine Oak, and Mac18...not a huge fan of any of those. Wish I could be more helpful. Have you been to this site: lawhiskeysociety
I find it helpful. They seem to dig the Cask Strength there.
You may not believe this but I have been and was able to meet Jimmy Russell (shake his hand along with everyone else in the gift shop). I went last year while passing through KY, I knew I only had time for one distillery so naturally I chose Wild Turkey.

Not a Macallan fan? It's been my favorite scotch I've tasted yet but I haven't had many..

Nice! That sounds awesome.
I'm no Scotch expert, just became curious 1-2 years ago when I noticed how hard it was becoming to find new complex bourbons. I decided to try a bunch of Speyside whiskies, Mac being one of the first, because those are supposedly comparable to bourbon. I ended up discovering I liked all the Island (including Islay) malts and even Highland malts over the more popular Speysides. If you want to try some of these smokey/briny Island malts, try Scapa it is incredibly drinkable and smooth. It works as a good introduction to that region. Let us know about that Cask Stregth, you got me curious.

My fiance's parents know I am into bourbon so one night they said they had something they wanted to show me. They had gone to Kentucky for something and got a bottle signed "by some guy." Turned out to be a mid '80s 101 bottle signed by Jimmy Russell.

Fellas, I know I'm a newbie to this thread but I'm back in the ER for the 2nd time in 6 days with my 16 month old girl. Something's wrong with her - possibly a viral infection in her knee. Please keep us in your prayers (if you pray) or just keep your fingers crossed and send some good vibes our way. It's been a rough few days for us. I will definitely be treating myself to a pour of something extra special when all is said and done.

Damn. My daughter is almost 4 now but we had a scary experience when she was around 18 months (she was hospitalized for 5 days). It's never easy when your little one is hurting. Stay strong and prayers are headed her way.

Prayers sent your way brother...
hopefully it's something minor!
