I've been to the Kentucky Bourbon festival a couple of times and Jimmy Russel is always out there. At all of the events he can, spends time talking to anyone that recognizes him and signs any of his products no problem. Super nice old guy and full of knowledge on our favorite drink of choice. He's probably the most visible master distiller the entire week out there.
And G2H, your family is in my prayers!

Unc, if you like the heavily sherried Macallan, try the GlenDronach 12 if you can find it.

2PD - switched over to beer... 2 brothers sidekick extra pale ale, and it's pretty refreshing.

FPD EHT BP
1st pour of this baws and its excellent whiskey
notes of oak with the sweetness of cherries. Might add a drop of h2o to smooth out that bite next pour, hot damn!

The FRSmB is a very nice pour for its price point.

Which Willet rye we talking? The 2yr family reserve?

2yr...it's very tight with a burn on the nose and tongue; however, it is extremely complex for being so young. One rock opens it up so nicely...a true transformation
I am looking forward to the 6 year which a couple bottles have been promised to me this year.

Completely agree. First time I had a drink from mine I had it neat and it was a tad harsh and one note. Dropped an ice cube in it the next time and picked up sooo many more flavors. Great whiskey for the price when opened up with a few drops of water or ice cube in my opinion
