Anyone here experiment with aging your own bourbon with the at home barrels. Was thinking about ordering one to age some poor mans pappy but wanted some reviews first?

I've had some of a bottle of Dry Fly that someone put the barrel chips on to add age, color and flavor too. I wasn't impressed with the pre nor post product. I would be interested to see what the humidity of the summer would do to a younger bourbon down here (especially in the smaller barrel with higher bourbon to surface area ratio).

I was under the impression it's not legal to ship person to person...the whole age verification thing. No matter your right just 20$ bottles and probably fine. Just saying be awear for any future online trading

The place I got from last hadn't had it in a while. I think I saw it at another place but not sure if in stock. I'll look...edit out of stock

Yes, I'm looking for a maximum of 1000 50+ gallon oak charred barrels, but I can't find a supplier.

Looking to age them at least 8 years, I want to take a lot of the casino shareholding profits I make and open a distillery. Bring bourbon back to where it belongs.

Well I'm just considering a 2 liter barrel but good luck with your distillery.

Yeah, what he said.

You can't just drop in a thread with a bunch of jackasses that are debating the suckage of Noah's Mill or discussing their favorite type of bitters, and just casually mention that you are looking for 1000 barrels to start a bourbon company. I'm gonna need some more info here.

You lame arse. You've had one of them at my house. You had the Barterhouse and enjoyed it. The Orphan Barrel bourbons are older bourbons with shitty shadey marketing. The bourbon is good though, so who cares.

I know I had it. I even told a co-worker such. But we were trying to figure out if "orphan barrel" was a specific term or just a marketing ploy. After some research and reading some blogs, sounds like it's just a marketing ploy.

Also, next time I am at your abode, I shall do something uncouth to one of your bottles but shant inform you as to which one has been violated.

On a completely unrelated note, anyone know what someone would do if they wanted to make their piss REALLY yellow, dark yellow...y'know, almost an amber color. Just hypothetically.
