Did yall find that the mix was better than the 12 or 107 alone? In other words, is it worth mixing?

I like the 12 more than the 107 alone. I don't mind the slightly higher proof of the mix. And when people ask...why doesn't this one have a label.

Lol ah alright. I love Weller 12. I read somewhere that some liquor stores are marking it up to $60 a fifth

Had a good time drinking some good whiskey last night at Manship in Jackson (if you live in the area and like whiskey, this will be your place)!

The lineup (all 2 oz pours):
Johnny Drum Private Stock - I had been curious if I should get it b/c I've seen it a few places and have to say it was solid and good pour for this time of the year. Heavy on caramel and vanilla and a little spice on the nose and the mouth has the caramel and vanilla upfront, but you get a heavy dose of cinnamon and spice that lingers for a pretty good while. Overall, pretty solid and will have to go get some

William Larue Weller 2013 - Oh man how I need to get a bottle of this heaven. Nose is heavy on oak with some vanilla notes and even hint of citrus. At the proof, obviously the taste hits you upfront with the oakiness but balances out well with the sweeter notes of vanilla and caramel and the finish brings out that little hint of citrus. Great pour.

EH Taylor Warehouse C Surviving - The nose on this one blew me away. It had dried fruit, oak and spice early and then you can catch some tobacco and orange notes. Taste gives you the spice up front with cloves and cinnamon then get the fruit and caramel and finish has a lot of spice hanging around for a good long finish.

Jefferson Presidential Select 18 year - I had this one before several times and it didn't disappoint. Nose had good butterscotch notes with caramel and just a tad of spice. Taste had the sweeter notes up front and get the oak and spice towards the middle and has a finish with leather taste and the sweet vanilla hanging around.

Overall, a great night for sure!

That's one hell of a line up. So the WLW was the winner of the 3?

WLW was great. I was also a huge fan of the EH Taylor Tornado and I need to find some of that also. The JPS 18 was also great as always. Those are all in a top tier and great in their own way.

I thought I had seen you post a pic of getting one in the mail a while back? It has been really hard to get though. I may end up drinking most of that bottle at the bar since not far from the hospital

Game on, grilling bacon wrapped doves, Frying fish and oysters, and charbroiled oysters.

Oh, and sipping Weller

Looks like even some of the nicer restaurants felt the btac/pappy blues this year. Had lunch at Mansur's and they had no Van Winkle or WLW and Saz18. They previously had just about everything but the new menu only have GTS, er17, and handy

I had a glass of WLW at Mansurs a few weeks ago.
