Some dude is at my local Costco signing bottles. Must be short supply because you are limited to one case.

What the hell bottle is that?

Does your Costco have private selection or just the regular single barrel? The selection at mine is pretty boring except you can get blantons for $52 and bookers for $47

Some kind of barrel strength limited edition something OB or E or K something? Hell who can keep up with all that? I just handed it back to him and got the Kirkland brand.

Lol... Limiteds don't have paper labels on the bottle. Guessing Costco bought a barrel...

I'm guessing it's standard 4RSB
Eta: ehh if Brent's there, they may have gotten their hands on a barrel.

Looks like a shiny label... Cask strength I guess

Looks like they just had a bunch of barrels left and mixed them all together. Probably why it was only $30.

In all seriousness I live in Alabama, my Costco cannot even sell bourbon only wine and beer. But I have been seeing some very nice stuff at very good prices showing up at Costcos in different parts of the country.

FPD - Blantons Gold while enjoying my fire pit.
I can't believe I contemplated trading away my unopened bottle of this stuff. It seems to get better and better.

Ok....not really one to gravitate to Old Grand Dad. In fact, I've never bought it before. Have become something of a snob I guess. So, when my mother passed, I was left with this gallon bottle on a rocker of Old Grand Dad. It's 86 proof. The bottle belonged to my grand father and I remember playing around it as a kid. This would put the bottle's age of about 45 years old. I had been doing research on the bottle to see if it was worth anything or if i could drink it. Found dollar value wasn't much as that much bourbon is worth so much more to me! The bottle had been open previously so I was worried if it had been spoiled by too much alcohol evaporating. I was out of bourbon and on my way home and didn't feel like going to the store to by something else. Figured this was the time to try it out and if it was bad I'd toss it and keep the bottle since it had the family name engraved on it. Well, it's fantastic. Mild, caramel, vanilla...didn't expect this from Old Grand Dad, but maybe that's because it's about 45 years old. gonna plow through this pretty quickly if I don't get it in a decanter. Don't need any more alcohol to evaporate.

Costco in bham has a liquor section on the side. The prices are basically the same as the ABC store and the selection is limited but sometimes you run into stuff like this.
