Anyone see Blantons around BR or NOLA lately? Looking for a bottle for a friend.

None in BR except for the ones at that place for $72. I was in NOLA a couple of weeks ago and saw some at Dorignac's, Martins on Vets, and Breaux Mart in River Ridge. Dorignacs was a private barrel but $60. The other 2 places were $50.

Dropped by Four Roses and got to taste a couple of different mashbills. Decided to bring this one home.

That barrel was.
There were 11 people blind tasting 4 different samples. 7 people had this one 1. There were 3 women sampling and every one had this last.

FPD:
My first go at EC 12..and a hearty pour at that.
I've heard from most that you either like it..or don't.
I LOVE it. Freakin delicious. And the rich color from 12 years in the barrel is some of the nicest I've seen in a while. I will definitely be stocking up on these before they remove the age statement on the back

I'm far from a bourbon expert but for my tastes I think it's great.. It packs some heat bring barrel strength. I've never had the 18 to compare it to. I got it for $45.99 which I think it's great for the price

The first release EC could be had for $40 back in the day. I was at Heaven Hill recently and the EC 23 was $280 and you were limited to one bottle. Kind of crazy when you think about it.

Just getting settled back home after a cruise. The last port of call was good to me.

It seems to range anywhere from $45 to $70 at the different islands I visited. I paid $62 a bottle for these. The places that quoted cheaper prices were conveniently sold out so I'm not sure if those were legitimate prices or not.
