All the same places in NOLA (Dorignac's, Martin's, Elio's, etc) had Pappy and BTAC year round on the shelves at retail with a spring and Fall release. This stopped in about 2012. Just joking about the old school grocery stores.

If you decided you wanted a bottle of Pappy 20 on any given Friday night you could get it. But the $79 seemed excessive so one would generally opt for a $21 bottle of Crown Royal.

Honestly, I was more into scotch. I had Jack in the house at all times...one bottle of Pappy 20...and several bottles of 12 year scotches.

I was more into scotch too. I'd pick up some Laphroaig and pass the pappy right up. Every time. That's depressing.

Ah Talisker. The isle of skye juice. Used to love it. I've never had Lagavulin. I should get a dram of the 16 some time soon.

I may be making a trip to NOLA next weekend to see an old buddy. Gonna stop by barrel proof. I'll holler at you on the board to confirm if I'm gonna head that way. And I appreciate the sample offer too!
