Usually the EC store picks run at 94 proof.

Sounds like your store pick is on the spicy side.

Being that I have bottle #5 and you had bottle #6 i'm not looking forward to that lol. The people at Harvest seem really nice so hopefully future store picks are better.

It maybe BP instead of 94 proof. I wish I had a hydrometer. The cheapest I can find it $30 on Amazon. This could be 130+ proof

I was talking to the guy at Rice Fine Wine & Liquor about their Elijah Craig barrels that they picked. He said when they tasted the samples, you were picking barrel proof samples, and then they proof it down to the standard 94 when bottling. So what tested best at barrel proof might not be the best at 94 proof.

Who knows, maybe they skipped a step and bottled it directly for you guys?

I tried it and it’s definitely hot. I’m not experienced enough to put a proof number on it but it drinks hotter than 94. It’s not bad but not what I was expecting either.

That’s how I did for my russles reserve. It was 117 proof sample that they water down to 110 bottle proof. You should add a little water when you sample to get a feel of how it will be in the bottle but it’s a guess. I didn’t at first I just had it as is it definitely changes some. I was worried what I picked wouldn’t be good but it turned out great.

I’d put money on it being 94 proof. They have a bunch of Government stuff to deal with and ways to test the proof. They would be in a lot of trouble I think sending out something higher than what the proof is on the label.

If you test it and it is what you think it is, I would not post the results on here. Quietly let the shop owners know.

I am helping a friend try to ascertain a "ballpark" price on this item IF NOT if you can suggest where I can go to get such. Thanks. $1 placed as price holder, not as formal offer.

He has as bottle of Maccalln Scotch. Supposedly it was give to special people at a reunion or ??? There were only 250 given and was too have been the only time that the family name has been on the bottles.

One of the recipients gave the bottle to him (named-deleted on pic).

I grabbed a bottle today. The clerk stocking liquor was glad to hear that the store pick was getting some action on TD. I think they may have actually put ALL the bottles out on display. I thought about hunting through them to find the lowest number, but I'm such a klutz, I was afraid I'd break more than I would buy. Settled for Bill and Ted's favorite number.

I've got to disagree with you on that one. I'm 4 or 5 glasses deep, all neat, and I'd say it drinks right in that 90-95 proof range.

Do a side by side with ECBP and get back to us, but I'm having a hard time going with you on that one.
