Stupid question for you Louisiana folk. I’m going to be in and around Jena next month for work and would like to pick up a couple of my favorites that are either unavailable here (Buffalo Trace) or grossly overpriced (Johnnie Walker black). Is that something that your basic Wal-Mart or Target typically stocks, or will I need to find a specialty liquor store? In communist Alabama we have to purchase from the state unless you want to pay outrageous prices so I’m not too familiar with what a free state looks like from a whiskey perspective.

Been exploring the bottom shelf lately. This is a solid pour. Probably my #2 sub-$20 bottle behind Virgin.

Might I recommend JW Dant if you're cruising the bottom shelf. For the life of me, haven't tasted a better bang for your buck.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen that one around here but I’ll pick one up if I come across it. Not surprised it’s a Heaven Hill product. Nobody consistently produces quality cheap stuff quite like they do.

Thanks, Bus

I think it drinks nicely. Nothing like old SAOS, of course
