Gonna have to define your “inexpensive”
But here’s a good start under 30

Buffalo trace
Eagles rare
Jim bean
Wild turkey 101
Four Roses small batch
Elijah Craig 12
Woodford Reserve
Maker’s Mark

EH Taylor Small Batch usually around $35 if you mean really inexpensive then

Old Grand Dad 114 for $24 is hard as hell to beat especially if you like high rye bourbon. To me it is better than Basil Hayden.

And how do you like to drink it? Lots of bourbons make a great old fashioned but they would not be my first choice if I was drinking them neat.

Sipping on a little 1792 sweet wheat this evening. I’ve enjoyed this one so far

Admittingly I'm mostly still an Old Fashioned, Mint Julep, Manhattan drinker. I do drink on the rocks as well. Haven't yet developed the neat taste yet.

It takes some time...easiest neat bourbon to start with might be Basil Hayden’s at just 80 proof.

If you do any hefty rocks pours, the first sip or two is practically neat.

1PD: This ice ball dissolved quickly...first time sipping the B batch, even better than the A & C versions
