You should for sure go to Buffalo Trace and if you are staying in Louisville might as well hit up Angels Envy and pick up some rye. The Galt House by the river has a nice bar in the skywalk between buildings overlooking the river and 4th street live. Also have a bar on the West side building that has a good deal on shots of Pappy when available. For food Doc Crow's Southern Smokehouse is great. The Louisville Slugger tour is also pretty good. Staying downtown near 4 th street is good because it is an easy walk to a lot of good eating places. Jeff Ruby’s is a good place for a steak. For Pub food the Troll Under the Bridge is usually good.
If you are traveling interstate 65 check out Chuck’s Liqour at I think the second Bowling Green Ky exit. I think it is the same exit as Cabela’s (maybe exit 22). There will be a Chuck’s liqour sign that is visible from the interstate. He has some great barrel picks. He does a Weller Antique that is always great. Last time I was in there he had a case of Kentucky Owl. Also look for a bottle of Maker’s mint julep.

What’s the best way to search for Blantons dumped on specific dates? Facebook groups?

You can email them to find out. They've always been extremely helpful.

Speaking of Blantons... I guess it’ll be next to impossible to find a bottle around BR anytime soon?

It’s really good. I’ll be interested to see if they’re able to deliver on their hope of making it a more regular offering.

Just starting to get into Whiskey, so I’m a Newb.
I’m in the same boat. Always drank beer, with some wine, but just getting into bourbon.
Some I liked: Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Jefferson’s.
Woodford Reserve is my favorite of all I have tried so far.
