Baco Bar is solid.

Try going Thai over at Sticky Rice. They do a really good job. Good Tom Kha.

Gallaghers

Closed on Monday. Wife and I ate there Saturday night and it was exceptional. Large filet and crabmeat au gratin entrees were split between both of us. Both were amazing.

Buster's Place. Best Oyster Po'boy their side of the lake

Babaganoush is good as well for Lebanese.

I've been eating gallaghers food since the winners circle, but goddam his current place is expensive. Great food but I just can't justify the spend

bacobar is interesting and different
busters does not in any way suck, great place to get a dozen and some beers

It's a nut and a half.
May not be worth it, but it's good. You don't feel like you've been had when you leave.

Yeah I might have exaggerated a bit. Fixed it.

Bacobar always has amazing cocktails and some interesting daquiris too

I had a $200 gift card from a customer of mine that had been burning a hole in my wallet. Our bill came to $189 after drinks and the blue crab appetizer. The waiter seemed a bit flustered when he brought my ticket pad back and my gift card still showed $10.23 credit.

That's about right.
Friday it was 2 drinks, 2 apps, 2 entrees, 160 before gratuity.

I didn't remember it being that much in the past.

Was it loaded? Better than Pontchartrain Poboys?

Pardos is about 2 miles away on Tyler/Hwy 21. It's excellent.

Oh yeah. I used to play at the Green Room next door once every month.
I looked forward to it because it meant I'd get that po'boy for dinner and babaganoush after the show when they'd set up a table outside. I still dream about that po'boy. Huge fresh oysters, not overly breaded, in perfect balance with the french loaf.
