Where Do You Find the Best Creole Tomatoes?

I've bought them from a number of places, but I've yet to have a Creole with that unique Creole tomato flavor. Haven't had that flavor since pre-Katrina. I've had good tomatoes purporting to be Creoles, but they don't taste like them.

I agree.


I buy mine from a dude in St. Charles Community (Between Thibodaux and Raceland) at a fruit stand. He sells them $1.00 a pound with an honor box to collect. Best tomatoes I've ran across since my paw paw grew them.

The garden by rock-n-bowl. I just go out there and pick what I need after the sun goes down.

I miss my maw maw's red gravy for stewed chicken...used creole tomatoes.

I've never thought much of Creole tomatoes. One of the most overrated local items.
