Funny you say that, last night an acquaintance came by with some friends and mentioned something about a vegan dish with butter. I said sure I'd have that but without the butter. She said 'Holy shite are you seriously that hardcore?'

I am so misunderstood

That doesn't seem hardcore to me. How can you be vegan and eat butter?

The silk thing...now that's serious.

Reminds me of Jim Gaffigan:
"I'm not a strict vegetarian. I do eat beef and pork. And chicken. But not fish 'cause that's disgusting!"

Why are you ultra-vegan? Just curious. Not trying to start shite.

I ended that post with a compliment.

Wonderful that you use reusable bags. Most of us don't.

If it wasn't taken that way, it should have been.

Others might question me and that is fine but I do not mock people. Nor do I troll. Both of those are in opposition to my beliefs.

Anything I say that sounds strange should probably be attributed to an old guy's attempt at humor.

It is serious and believe me, I'm sure I am non-vegan in more ways than I can even imagine. I didn't throw out all my clothes, shoes, makeup, household items when I went vegan. That would have been unrealistic and expensive for me. But I control what I can. I buy accordingly now.

I took it with good intentions. It's okay to pick sometimes and I'm used to it so I just assumed. As I said, the $150 made it clear you weren't being serious so it threw me off. I don't mind people disagreeing with me though. I'd be a fool to think some won't.

No worries, MD!

Anyone who doesn't use their own bags is missing out, and the biggest reasons to do it have nothing to do with saving the planet. Instead of being limited to a few paper bags and no free hands, or 10 plastic bags cutting the circulation off in my fingers, 2 - 3 reusable bags accomplish the same job with much more comfort and manageability. I also use those insulated totes for the cold stuff. Keeps you from having to run straight home.

I've never had a problem with plastic bags. Do you wash the reusable ones? What about when you carry raw meat in them?

Plastic bags take anywhere from 15 to 1000 years to decompose.

This is not true.

I've used them in planting and they decompose alot quicker than this, usually within a year. Also, reuse them for picking up doggie doo when walking the dog. Sometimes as mini trash bags, also, to help wrap bottles of wine or beer if traveling in town without a ice chest. Probably more uses I can't think of right now.

I try to use the re-usable bags from time to time, but will not pay 1.00 to 5.00 to buy new ones when I forget to bring mine.

Doesn't affect the environment either way, so I just use the plastic bags because it's easier.

I agree... Plus I can carry it on my shoulder not all in my hands.

Just checked out at a store. As usual, the cashier rolled her eyes as I gave her my own bag. As I was walking away after saying have a nice day, she said wow that's a pretty sturdy bag. All I could do was

I use whatever kind of bag Kavantarious puts my groceries in. If that causes catastrophic environmental damages and such, well that's on K-dawg. Not me.

Well I'll be!

It's so funny how you have this mental image of someone and then they're not even the same gender! Well, you're very nice either way. Sorry about that!

yeah, maybe on the internet. I would think it'd be strange if you needed a special "radar" to be able to tell who the women are IRL.
