I am trying to force myself on it. The glass liter of Whole Foods brand in the strawberry flavor is pretty good with a wedge of lemon squeezed in.

Soda stream is a laughable rip off. How much do their refills cost again?
If you're gonna be serious about sparkling water, get yourself a self made home carbonation rig. Mine has a 20 lb CO2 bottle and cost about $11 to fill. That was about 4 years ago and it's still got a good bit of gas in it.

You can also use a paintball tank with a special adapter.
I didn't get my tank for free. Mine is a 20 lb tank, but if I were doing again, I'd just get a 5 lb one.
It also helps the carbonation process if the water is chilled.
If you are a homebrewer, you can also use a CO2 tank to dispense your beer through a tap.
Lots of info on the web about this.
