can we just stop with the restaurant talk? This is about how you would boil crawfish
I am all for hearing what restaurants do it right but that is a different discussion/thread.
This went off the rails because the ice chest shakers got their panties in a wad.

If the gentleman truly is a crawfish farmer,
then i formally and politely recant my call of bullshite, and offer my apologies.
Sprinkle method is however, ... still bullshite.

It's all good. I'll be thinking of y'all when I'm eating my sprinkled crawfish Friday night.

I'm officially putting people who use the "sprinkle in the ice chest and shake it" method ...
in the same group with the people who put sugar in their grits.

Please tells us what laws of physics are being broken.
I know what you are going to say, but please say it so you can demonstrate how little you know about the sprinkle method.

I tried it with a cigar but burned my crawfish

What i'm saying is that the HACKS who are trying to argue that the "sprinkle in the ice chest" method is a superior method, when in actuality the way they claim it works is based in CONTRADICTION TO THE LAWS OF PHYSICS

Who in here has boiled crawfish so good that they didn't just get compliments from freinds (not that it doesn't mean yours were actually good), but people actually paid their hard earned money to pay to eat the crawfish that you boiled ... AND came back for more?
Anyone?
Here, and they can't wait to pay me to do it again this Spring. $20 all you can eat and drink/person. 120lbs crawfish shipped live overnight, 2 kegs, and lots of meats on the smoker.
ETA: I season my pot water plenty good and don't need to use the seasoning in the ice chest method. People's noses are already running like a fire hose by time the third pot gets pulled from the soak.

I mean, you CAN make them so hot that people will cry no matter what method you use but that's just stupid. There's no reason for it. The "I like spicy" crowd is retarded too. You don't have to have snot running down your face to have a good flavor.

I'm done with the schooling. Got a Bachelor's and a Doctorate. You? (since you want to tell people to go back to school).
Question ... are you proposing that the salt, pepper, and other ingredients in the sprinkle ACTUALLY melt? or that it just seasons the steam?

I guess I should've clarified, it's friends up here that are new to crawfish and creole/cajun cooking in general. You know, the meat and potatoes kind of folks from Iowa and surrounding midwest states that have infiltrated Denver lol.

I do. It's what I'm best at. There's no reason to make something to eat that is so hot that your tongue goes numb and your nose won't stop running. I have an incredibly adventurous palate and pretty high tolerance for spice but I have friends that will put so much cayenne in their boils that you can't taste anything else. There's too many good flavors in a boil to let heat be the main ingredient.

So what's worse? The ice chest seasoning brigade or the guys that think adding an entire box of salt to a bucket of live crawifish sitting in fresh water is going to "purge" them?
