I've never been there, but a post popped up Todd Price's Where Nola Eats group Facebook page that all the employees walked out yesterday when a manager was made to leave. One of the other employees wrote a post about it, but it doesn't really give details. The link to her post is below. She wrote letter to her regulars as well.

Yesterday LaShaun Crawford, the GM of Pulp & Grind, was forced to leave, the entire staff walked out in solidarity. The staff will not be returning. Our lovely sanctuary corner in the CBD will no longer be. When I first moved to NOLA I was in a dark depression and was suffering daily suicidal thoughts, LaShaun Crawford and the community and Pulp and Grind brought me up. Made me feel seen, gave me worth, love, and confidence. LaShaun helped me realize how love and compassion can be such a powerful tool, how positively effecting one person’s day has a ripple effect. Thank you all for being a part of the P&G family over the past 3 years, for loving, trusting, supporting, and enjoying life with us on the daily. We were living the dream!! Yesterday, the bakers, juicer, and baristas walked out of Pulp and Grind after witnessing Peter and Cassi Dymond escorting LaShaun Crawford out of her shop. I say her shop not because of a name on a lease or business license but because, over the past three years, I have stood beside LaShaun and witnessed her create a community and thriving business at Pulp and Grind. She is the soul and driving force of the shop. The employees work at Pulp and Grind because we love it: We love coming to work and being in the environment that LaShaun Crawford has created, in a shop that is driven by her values and mission, with her at the helm welcoming all into the P&G family. Without her, it is not our Pulp and Grind. LaShaun, from day one, established a place for the community, a safe space, an inspiring space, a place to nourish the body, mind, and spirit. A huge part of employee training is LaShaun teaching the Pulp and Grind way: creating and serving community, all peoples, no matter who walks in the shop is met with love. People come into our coffee shop not just for a transaction but because they need a positive change in their day: a boost, a break, a refresh, a place to heal; that is what we serve at P&G, under LaShaun. Yesterday LaShaun was not reasoned with or asked to transition into a different position, she was screamed at and had the cops called on her. The abuses I have seen LaShaun suffer over the past year will not allow me to work at P&G any longer nor will I patronize Satsuma or any other ventures of the parent company. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of the past three years at Pulp and Grind. You all gave me a community when I needed it most. I hope to see you all at festivals, parades, and the grocery store.
