Sounds like a case of defamation
If so, she should be sued back to her parents' basement in New York.

On Megan's page? I didn't see those posts on her page. I just checked again.
Don't know if someone deleted their message or what. Can't find it now. She replied to someone along the lines of 'there were irregularities, but those had been addressed' 'the owners were mean' and restating that they wanted to force her out instead of selling

All of that is so odd.

Meh, if the manager was a con artist type it isn't surprising that the workers have a love of her. She was already a victim to what the other workers viewed as big business.
She was the buffer between ownership wanting to make money and had no investment in the company to push her to. Perfect position to garner hipster sympathy. If your employees love you that much you might not be that effective of a manger.

They were more than prompt and always friendly, so while I get the "if your employees love you" feeling I can tell you that wasn't the case here.
I agree with what you're saying. I don't think the "if your employees love you" deal is always true. Loyal employees are a good thing.

Seeing other comments around apparently the manager could have been under reporting the income to help with the valuation of the business that she was trying to buy.
Appeared the owners figured it out then confronted her.

Thanks for the article. It doesn’t provide much in the way of facts. The jury is still out.

More of the stories/rumors are creeping out when you read comments on the subject. The owners don't seem too worried about being able to restaff and apparently feel they are on solid ground.
Maybe the manager sues and all the truth then comes out.
