It was really good when it first opened back in the 80's before going to shite.

Back then the Tramonte brothers were eating pizza at Johnie's pizza talking about how that would be a great location for a specialty meat shop one day.

Yes, the one by Tramonte's
In the 90's and early 2000's it was the best in town. especially with the bar that you could make your own plate and they would cook it on the flat top.

I don't doubt it. But you aren't a buffet guy. What did you order?

That's our go-to for take out. We probably eat there twice a month. But we never mess with the buffet.
I went to Great Wall for the first time in years a while back. Man, has that place fallen off. There were great big sections of the place that had obviously not had customers for a long time -- I'm talking about tables piled high with toys and school books.

Oriental Pearl Sherwood and Oriental Pearl Govt St are totally apple and orange..same in name only..been to both recently..Govt St now doesn't do buffet any longer, just mix-and-match combo plates..only Sherwood has sushi.

I've mentioned it to the owner Jenny nicely years ago(she's sweet as can be..but just a bottomline biz person too), she doesn't GAF, let's her sister sell inferior stuff on Govt St sullying the brand name to those that may have never tried the mothership location. Her husband is the chef on Sherwood, he runs an excellent staff and kitchen.

Govt St is many many a rung down the ladder from Sherwood/Coursey in quality..and options too.

OP Sherwood, then Hunan up the street, have been my favorite two BR buffets for ages. Omi my fav ala carte Chinese BR destination. Then again, like most folks, I've largely given up on BR's weak Chinese scene, and went full Thai as they proliferated.

Thai Kitchen has not been the same since it moved locations. Maybe I need to check it out one more time but it was really disappointing the last time.

Thai Pepper is money. Hot as hell, though. They don't hold back.

Went to Thai Pepper for the first time today. Really enjoyed it. Nothing was over the top hot...medium at worst. Loved the pad thai. I was about the third person there and everything was clean and orderly. Warning, place fills up fast and the food slinging begins. I might not have enjoyed it quite as much if I had arrived later.

I was a regular at OP Govt throughout their buffet years. I didn't know that OP Sherwood existed until the Govt shop switched to lunch boxes.

The quality was like night and day.
