7. Crappy food
only exception is a med rare staeak on a sizzling plate bc that is how it is supposed to be served.

One thing I like about this thread is that I've learned a lot of new things to be annoyed about.

this is the house i grew up. you ate what was cooked, or you didn't eat at all. if you put it on your plate, you ate it. and god forbid you complained that something didn't taste good...things got ugly.
Me too, but I think this played a pretty large role in my getting fat as a kid; I was forced to eat everything, even if I was full. Eventually I started to be able to handle all of what I was putting on my plate; then everything on my plate plus what my parents couldn't finish, then eventually 2nd plate, etc etc. as I got older.

yeah I don't necessarily believe in making your child finish their plate if it's that they're full and not that they don't like something.
There were times as a kid I'd shove everything inmy mouth and then go upstairs and spit it out

I would agree with making a kid eat all items on their plate if they don't like something, like broccoli for example.. but yeah, if kid says "im full" and they actually ate a fair amount, I won't fault them for not finishing the food. I think doing so really made it hard for me to judge when I've actually had enough. I know now, but for the longest time I'd just gorge until I was stuffed.

We were never made to eat anything and we were picky eaters. Three of us eat or try most things. Three if us are still are still somewhat picky to various degrees but nothing like growing up.
My aunt made her 7 children eat 3 bites of everything. I made it a point to eat before I spent the night with my cousins. Meal time was way too stressful over there. If my aunt left the room, they'd be jumping around looking for places to hide the vegetables. Very few of them eat vegetables today and they're all still pretty picky. One of them says if it's green, it's meant to be walked on. One had an eating disorder.
I think children react differently to forced feeding. Personally, I don't believe meal time should be stressful. I encourage tasting/trying new things but I don't require it.

I hate on them because when the food is plated and the order is prepared someone on the waitstaff had better get it to the floor.
