This is probably common knowledge, but I don't know.

The neighbor and I were talking the other day, what happened to Shucks on Highland? He ate there several times, but I never got the chance. I have heard that they are trying to find a new location, but know nothing else.

Thanks

Didnt know that either. Neighbor loved it.

I did love hear Condon and Anna having to promote it over Anna's husband's place.

What's wrong with Chimes and Acme for oysters?

Shucks in Baton Rouge was terrible and it was put out of our misery, that's what happened.

EDIT:
I realized my post implied they were all bad and edited. The Shucks in Abbeville is not bad and I ate there MANY times growing up. The BR locations were horrid. Absolute dog shite. I don't know if they were affiliated.

I ate at Shucks in Abbeville maybe 10 years ago and thought it was great. The one in BR was nowhere near that.

I ate at the abbeville location a couple months back. The bartender told me that some investors came in and wanted to use the concept in BR. The original abbeville owners had little to do with the operation of the BR store and the quality of the abbeville store did not translate to BR.

Shucks in abbeville is really really good.

Run by idiots, one trip and I had enough. After the 3rd try to get my bill to resemble what we ate, I paid what I wanted and left. Cold entrees, confused service, indifferent management, not exactly a formula for success.

I’m pretty sure Stabiler had some skin in the game.

Stabler was the investor. Never went but that combined with reports of crap service and crappier food, I never felt the need. There is someone with a decent place on Oneal talking to Stabler about subletting the space and opening a 2nd location there. Not sure how its going since its been a month or so since I heard this.
