Taking my wife this weekend and looking for some new ideas. We usually bring some precooked shrimp, raw oysters to shuck on the beach, vegetables and dips, wraps etc.

No, we live less than ten minutes away so we just load up with a cooler full of beer and food and take an uber back.

Do you just haul down a sack of oysters to the beach with a knife and glove? Surely you keep them on ice, right?

We usually just pick up a couple of dozen singles and keep them on ice until we get to the beach and shuck them and drink beer.

Drunken pineapple--pour your favorite spirit over fresh cut up pineapple, refrigerate overnight. Eat fruit, drink fruity liquor, what's not to like?

I may be simple, but just a turkey sandwich works for me.
Now if I have a grill on the beach or poolside, the game changes.

That seems like too much work.

I just bring beer, maybe some chips, an apple or something.

Not much work if you are good at shucking. Just takes a few minutes and its pretty awesome eating raw oysters and drinking beer kicked back on the beach.

I usually get drunk enough I can't keep sand out of my beer. Keeping it off food seems like a hassle.
