I just realized that Orange Crush is this weekend on Tybee. Looks like we will be posting up at the pool.

When I lived by the beach, I would love taking a sleeve of ritz crackers. The round shape allowed them to be tossed like a frisbee up into a flock of seagulls hovering overhead, where they plucked them out of mid air.

Then you have gulls harassing you all day.

It became rather interesting because I would spend a lot of my afternoons at the beach before work. The same gulls would be there every day, and I actually got to know their markings, mannerisms and personalities.

Ive never eaten anything on the beach that didn't get sand in it. I drink on the beach and stumble to the condo to eat.

My dad used to make fun of us for packing up food to take to the beach. Back when they had a condo in Destin, it was a good walk down to the actual beach. I would load up the cooler with beer, Gatorade, water, sandwiches, and other snacks. He asked why we were packing like we were going on a picnic just to sit on the beach. Until he walked down there one afternoon, ended up drinking some beer, and got hungry. Then he started begging for a ham sandwich and another beer. It was a long walk back up just to get a snack, and the cooler has wheels for most of the trip. Yeah you have to bear-hug it and carry it on the beach, or just drag it through the sand, but it beats walking back in just for lunch.
As far as what we put in it, usually those single serve bags of chips, a can of pringles, some lunch meat in a Ziploc, slices of cheese, and those restaurant packets of mayo and mustard. Beer in the ice, the sandwich fixings on the ice, then a towel over that and the chips and bread on top.
