I never cook a ham outside of the holidays, but my parents do and every time they do it, I say I've got to get us one.

Maybe I'll do that this weekend.

This is from a ham steak. Too salty.

Okay all you ham people. Y’all are giving me too much credit. This was a cheap ham steak from the grocery store. Not Smithfield, not a country ham, just an overly salty, not particularly good piece of ham.

The dogs liked it, though.

For sure, but their kidneys are now working overtime

Wife cooked pan-seared sirloin strips, served over a bed of arugula and sauteed sliced red and yellow peppers, topped with a light salad dressing.

This recipe is from the Giada deLaurentis cookbook, which I only flip through for the articles.

I knew I’d get grief for that! I’m mostly a pretty good dog mom.

ETA: Dinner sounds great! Wondering about that Giada lie, though. ;-)
