Shrimp Remoulade on a bed of shredded iceberg over Romaine, fried mushrooms, and a few raw oysters.

Pork butt for pulled pork sandwiches, deer sausage, and baked beans are all in the smoker now. Gonna cook some mac n cheese to go with it. Christmas cookies for dessert.

Christmas party food. I know there will be boiled shrimp because I am boiling them. She made a key lime pie and potato salad. Not sure what everyone else is bringing yet.

I'd stay home and gorge on boiled shrimp and key lime pie, two of my favorites. Maybe throw on some sandals and Buffett's Christmas album for good measure

Great place with a diverse menu. We dined there often when M started at Millsaps.

We are heading to the Chimes. I need some raw oysters.

I'm trying out the Instant Pot for the first time. I've already not followed the instructions of taking it for a test run before trying out a recipe. If all goes well, we'll have some balsamic chicken thighs and baked potatoes.

If it fails, ham sandwiches.

Instant Pot is magic! Fifteen minutes to cook the chicken! The hard part was figuring out how/when to open the pot. Not sure how much time, because I wasted a bunch being skeered.

Edited to replace with smaller pic.

Looks like I'm pulling an all nighter. Second dinner is another pulled pork sandwich, cool ranch doritos, and maybe another Christmas cookie or 2. So much bourbon. I'm out of control lol

It's a pressure cooker which can also be a slow cooker and rice cooker! I bought it as one of the Amazon Black Friday deals. A friend uses it for all kinds of things. Last night she posted a pic of a small cheesecake she made.

Very interesting. Keep us updated on what you cook in it. I'm still in the pressure cooker debate.

I've got a rump roast in it right now. It makes me nervous, I have to admit.
