After reading last week’s thread, I made a Mississippi chuck roast in a slow cooker for the first time.

I am impressed.

Bone-in pork chops; mixture of collard, mustard and turnip greens; apple slices sauteed in butter flavored with cinnamon.

We did a deboned stuffed chicken from Hebert's, stuffed with broccoli cheese casserole, and oven-roasted asparagus, and sauteed spinach (wife didn't overdo the garlic this time).

That is their best chicken I’m in my opinion.

First time we get this one, and I was impressed, and I think I know why........the cheese. The cheese seemed to add an element of moisture to the rice that made you forget you were eating rice.

We have stayed mostly away from the ricey stuffings, preferring the cornbread dressing or the jalapeno potato stuffings.

Will buy again.

Made some burgers out of some trimmed filet loin that I ground up.

Damn, it was good.

Pulled leftover Turkey, cornbread dressing, and gravy out of the freezer. Was delicious. I am contemplating the last bit for breakfast in the morning.
