went to monroe to cook & help my parents who were affected by the flooding

sure felt good knowing i was making things easier on them.



pretty sure they really enjoyed the roux i made them.

i wish the timestamp was on, this happened at 12:30am at night. was up late getting a batch of gumbo going for them to store in individual containers later.

I'm questioning the purpose of the light bulb on the cooking surface.

My worst spill was a dutch oven that I was putting into the oven. It slipped and everything went everywhere.

Were you ladling roux into the bowl? It is not clear to me how it happened.

no, doing the microwave roux technique except i didnt check to see if the bowl i was using was pyrex.

Maybe it caught on fire because he covered the non-Pyrex bowl with foil.

I might not have checked to see if the bowl was Pyrex, either.

God was punishing you for being lazy. Just make the roux in cast iron instead of taking a short cut.
