I don't see rare bourbon being as hard to find as rare beer simply because of the price point. For bourbon, it just seems like if you have the money and are willing to pay, you can get it.
well i guess this is true.

Yea buy it online I guess? I like bourbon but the amount that I can find here is plentiful. The only one I really want to get my hands on is pappy obviously.
Tate bourbon is probably easier to find based on price point. Not many are willing to shell out $300+ for whiskey but would shell out $30-40 for a 4pk of something "rare"

Chimes East still has it on their "on deck" list online. When I went by last week they told me to watch for when it went live and come by. Man that worked out great! Guess their online beer menu isn't worth anything for information.
CB&D has been my best bet for getting a notification about a rare beer and actually getting to try it.
In terms of buying rare beer I just have to keep changing my tactics when my goto store decides they want to have a special raffle or only give the shite out at a certain time of day one day at a time.

Neighborhood bars in NOLA have it.
Had a few pints Sunday at Finn's. Loved it.
