Cover in water
Boil for 1 hour before adding anything
Add two boxes salt, one or two small bottles of crab boil, cayenne pepper to taste (2-3 tbsp for me)
Continue to boil for another 1 to 1.5 hrs.
Turn off heat and let peanuts soak. Taste test about every 15 minutes until they are as you like them.
Gorge yourself
Put leftovers in gallon freezer bags and freeze until you want them.

If you’ve got the jumbos, they’re going to take a while. Bring them to a boil in unseasoned water and let them boil for an hour. Shut your fire off and let them steep for two hours. Anytime during this, add your seasonings. Crawfish boil, salt and whatever. A bunch of Tony’s even works. Taste the water. It should be spicy and briny. After steeping for a couple of hours, bring back to a boil and start testing for tenderness in about 30 minutes. The second boil won’t take long. When tender, turn them off and let them soak until you like the taste. Saving you some propane by steeping. Saving you the seasonings, in the boil, by not adding them before they’re able to really do anything. :)

Go light on the crawfish boil and add some garlic and red pepper flakes instead. The red pepper flakes really add a lot of flavor

Me either. Can’t yall just call em spicy boiled peanuts and leave us Cajuns out of it? Those things taste like wet newspaper.

Thank you! Every time someone brings up boiled peanuts as a Cajun food I wonder why I'd never known about them until I was an adult, and even then, it was from someone from Georgia.

Calm down. It's just a way of describing the seasoning, not the item itself.
I grew up eating boiled peanuts every weekend during football season. My first time eating them that I can recall was from a man who shared some with us while sitting on the tailgate of his truck while my dad and I walked to the stadium to see Ole Miss play Alabama and I think it was Bear Bryant's last season coaching.
Most of my dining choices and foods are not considered country these days, but I freaking love boiled peanuts.
