It's not take-out, but highly sanitized delivery from Joel Catering. They own/run Il Mercato.

His food is upscale. I've ordered 3 rounds in the past month.

You order the day before by 8 pm and they drop off the next day.

As a former 70115 who was one of the few native born sons still living in that zip code can I ask how many generations of New Orleans back you trace? Were you born in New Orleans?

I was born and raised in New Orleans. My family came to New Orleans in the early 1790’s from Saint-Domingue and was integral in the planning of the city. We have been here continuously since French rule.

Having established that my New Orleans bonifieds exceed yours, I can say with conviction that Impastato’s sucks.

I have zero New Orleans bona fides, as my roots are all outside that lovely city. But I've got extensive experience eating all up and down the Italian boot, and I concur that Impastato's is fine but nothing special. I also find it funny that a denizen of 70115 is so enamored of what might be the Yattiest white tablecloth restaurant in SE LA.

I agree with this. TulaneLSU is delusional. Vincent’s uptown is the best Italian in the city in my opinion. I’m open to other suggestions, but certainly not Impastato’s.

Impastatos falls somewhere between Swamp Room and el pollo loco off williams in my top 100 restaurants in JP

Cmon man! You just lost a lot of credibility with this statement.
