Your paying for the ambiance and the service at a bar. I expect alcohol to be more pricey at a bar. I don’t expect the same price point from a bottle I take home. I go to a bar once a month maybe now, and it’s worth it to just get out.
I expect to pay $6 for a bag of popcorn at the movies too. But not at my house. Sorry if that isn’t reasonable.
And I'm paying for a limited release beer at the taproom that isn't available at a bar. Sorry if that isn't reasonable.
You sure are butthurt about a lot of Louisiana breweries. Courtyard. Parish. Who else is on your list?

If someone is bringing it back to BR, I'm down for two 4-packs. You offering?
That's the problem I have. $14 for gas. Half a day lost. The circus of ordering and picking up. It isn't just $22 a four pack anymore.

Listen, you want to do whatever the breweries tell you, then go for it. I call it like I see it. Courtyard is owned by a douche and Parish over priced this beer.
If you recall I bitched about how Tim Roof was back in the day and you were here, yet again, knighting for them. And guess what, I was right, they did suck. But they got better, as I hoped they would. I don’t just tell people to buy local beer because it’s local. If it sucks, I will give my opinion. And you will surely say the opposite. It’s called a discussion, or is it more than that to you?

I must be really jaded because I can’t remember the last time I paid less than $18 or so per four pack. $20-22 is about average here.

I won't argue with you there. I had plans for Saturday well before this beer was announced.

And we get it, trillium and tree house are expensive too. This ain’t Boston.
No, it's definitely not Boston. You can thank the Houston and Austin neck beards for the high demand
If I was Parish, I would go all in on the Houston market where they have a large following. Their good beers shelf turd in MS and AL, where no one has a clue what it is.

I’m open to discussion. If you can’t discuss without controlling your emotions then you need to work on it. Tin Roof did suck, early on. Prove me wrong.

Says the guy who calls a brewery owner a douchebag.

Well to be fair, Scott actually is a douchebag and is proud of it

Craft beer with the amount of hops will eventually reach the tipping point of price. Obviously in Louisiana we are not to that point yet as evidence by these still selling out in no time. People can bitch all they want but they have alternative craft beer to drink so no reason to bitch.

So basically it was very close in price minus the "$5 donation". To me that is the BS part of it.
Like previously stated, it gives them an easy way to test the market price

You’re right, I never met the guy. I’ll rephrase it to say, his internet and media persona is that of a douche canoe.
How about we discuss specifically your issues with my opinions of beer.
Let’s start with early tin roof.

There was an Eventbrite charge with that order too. Think it was $2 a 4 pack.

Great thread, it can taste like shite but those who drop the coin will say it’s the best collab ever, those who don’t will downvote, it’s a never ending circle. I prefer to drink what I like and keep my opinions to myself these days, way too many good beers out there to argue over pricing imo. If you want it drop the coin, if not then move on and enjoy the many great beers out there that’s available.

Isn’t he the one that complained about the kindergarten with Indian names? He support Elizabeth Warren?
I quit drinking all beer almost a year ago so I’m saving a ton of money.

What’s funny about this is that I’m approaching it without emotion. It’s strictly analytical. The cost per ounce is not that far out of line with some other similar beers in the country.
I give an example of a shelf beer that I have no desire to drink that costs more per ounce. My wallet doesn’t care that it’s brewed in Oregon and goes through the 3 tier system. The cost per ounce to drink that Dead Guy Ale at my house is more than this OJD is. Period. There’s no arguing that.
Then I say I have no problem paying $5.50 for a pint of beer. And here you are bringing emotion into it saying you won’t pay that much to drink a beer at home, but you’ll gladly pay more than that for a pint at a restaurant or bar because of ambiance.
If you have a problem forking over $5.50 for a pint of beer, then don’t. There are plenty of others you can buy at a cheaper price point, and plenty others that cost a helluva lot more as well, many of which I know you have no problem buying because you enjoy those styles of beer.
