I agree with you a special release I'm cool with the price, I would hate for that to become the norm though.

Kinda. If you were talking within the same brewery, then yeah. But you are comparing west coast brewery via 3 tier to pick up at brewpub. OJD is 17% more expensive than ghost. I don't know the hop bill for OJD or ghost, but i'm willing to bet, seeing as Ghost is at 8% and OJD might be lower, that the cost to make ghost vs. OJD is pretty close.

And people won't, if they don't want to. This is a beer discussion thread. People will discuss new beers, especially by ones from Parish, considering every release there is "something" going on over there. In my, and many other's opinions, $22/4 pack is pretty high. It's a price point, that if I were in the area on that weekend, I would pass it up. Now i'm sure there will plenty of the Parish faithful lining up at the early AM hours, but that price point will turn some off.

The cost is just not out of line with similar double dry hopped IPAs in 16 ounce cans in other parts of the country.

You're right, this is a beer discussion thread. $22 for 64 ounces of a limited release double dry hopped IPA isn't exactly outrageous. You obviously disagree.

And here’s the just of the Parish brewery issues. We want to drink their beer. They make good beer. We drank their beers from the beginning, some good, some bad, but we stuck through the bad ones because they were local and they were doing better than the other local breweries. Now they are very good and we are all proud of them for it. We feel like we are a part of the brewery because we became fans of it, as one would a sports team.
But, when you start doing some of the things they are doing, it feels like they are taking advantage of the fans. You do goofy shite like the no limit releases, or the over-priced releases, yeah it bothers people. Because it seems like they are just seeing how far they can push the envelope before they start seeing negative returns.
This is why there are so many negative Parish threads.

And we get it, trillium and tree house are expensive too. This ain’t Boston.

It's true. But it's also what the market will yield so it will be interesting to see how quickly this sells out.

I don't have them yet but bought 4 4 packs at Modern Times in Portland, they were $22 a piece.

Jacob at Urban South complains to me about how they have a hard time pricing their beer where they want to.

Where does Modern Times get off thinking they can charge people $22 for a 4-pack? Yada yada yada...

Completely agree.

But I can't wait to hear the complaining about the pricing of the pastry stout collab they did with The Answer last weekend.

And I wouldn’t spend that on their beer either. We get it, you’ll pay whatever they ask you to pay for their beer and you’ll condescend the whole way through every thread.

If you look at my original post and subsequent one, I did not complain about the price just stated the fact of what it was, 4 pack and case.

Do you remember buying $12 750ml bottles of the first two batches of Ghost in the Machine? I member.

But now $22 is too expensive for 64 ounces of beer.

Yes, it is. Maybe because hops were more expensive back then. Maybe because I was more enthused about craft beer. But now, with the over abundance of hops, the multitude of options we now have, and the shite show that is the craft beer scene now, I’m not willing to pay that. If that hurts your feelings then I apologize. Go buy your over priced ipas, I’ll buy the cheaper versions who haven’t gotten a big head yet.

You're not one of the complainers. I was being sarcastic.

What is the ABV? I mean I bough a 4 pack of 120 Min but its like 18%. I also got a 6 pack of Codename Freedon fan at Odd 13 and it cost $18 it is a Triple @ 10%. I jus could do it for some 7-8% standard IPA. I mean at least with KBS its aged a cave in bourbon barrels for a year.

I don't even know, really. I just find it really hard to complain about a $5.50 pint of beer.

Obviously, some other people disagree vehemently.

I’ll pay for that in a bar. But not for a bottle at my house. How much would they charge for that at a bar? $12? I wouldn’t pay that for any IPA at a bar.

Does it taste better in a bar? Go ahead and buy your overpriced bar beer. I'll keep buying less expensive beer that I can drink at my house and not have to deal with bar bullshite.

Your paying for the ambiance and the service at a bar. I expect alcohol to be more pricey at a bar. I don’t expect the same price point from a bottle I take home. I go to a bar once a month maybe now, and it’s worth it to just get out.

I expect to pay $6 for a bag of popcorn at the movies too. But not at my house. Sorry if that isn’t reasonable.

If someone is bringing it back to BR, I'm down for two 4-packs. You offering?
