Casual atmosphere , good food options, preferably within walking distance of an LSU bar (recs here appreciated, too). They are omnivorous and just desire good food and atmosphere options. TIA

Tell them to wear LSU gear and they'll do fine wherever they go

They will have the colors on. Might really go for a steak....but any well prepared food in a good, casual atmosphere will work.

Dante's pizzeria has a legit pie. They usually have a booth setup at the ballpark.

La casa was my wife's favorite pizza spot growing up--not close to the park though

The pub food at Barrett's is legit too. The Rueben and the Philly are excellent.
I like the Old Market area near downtown. Lots of dining and drinking options. Upstream Brewing Co. is my office when I am up here.

For Omaha bein a "beef" town, their steakhouses are pretty meh. I would steer them towards good pub food & drinks. Kim gave good suggestions.
After trying 3 of their "best" joints, I'm done looking for a steak n Omaha, fwiw

Well .. Omaha's claim to fame is sending out flash frozen, vacuum sealed steaks ... Their actual steak joints aren't really that good at all .. Like Kim Jong says .. the Old Market area is the way to go over there .. There's really not a lot of earth shattering dining in Omaha .. it ain't no NOLA .. Barrett's sandwiches are really good .. I always found the draft beer is cheap up there too ..
