Yeah, I prefer Juneaus to Kartchners. I did a blinded taste test with 5 people and all chose Juneaus over Kartchners. I had never had it before, but was impressed. Nunu's is great too.

Janise's SOLD OUT last month to a company from R-Kansas
new company will re-assess everything, cut corners where they can to save money, and supposedly ALL employees jobs are safe. Only time will tell if they frick up the boudin recipe and buy cheaper, lower quality seasonings.

Poche's boudin is so bad that I threw it in the trash. I went back again a few months later to get some roasts and said "surely something was off that first time." Got the boudin again, took a bite, threw it in the trash. Absolute shite
I used to take groups of visitors to Poche’s for the plate lunches. I tried to steer them away from buying boudin there because I knew if it was their first taste, they might think they don’t like boudin. I love Poche’s, just not the boudin.

I’m a fan of Don’s and Kartchner’s, with Don’s my favorite.
Someone brought boudin to a party once, and the boudin eaters in the crowd loved it. Dude said this is where he got it. Haven’t had it since, but I don’t get to that part of the world often.
Tee-boy’s, on the other hand, was just okay. I had heard so much about it, and many obviously love it, but it was just mid-pack for me.

Damn this thread. Does anyone know of any decent cracklins within an hour of Nashville? I will drive, some.

There is no boudin worth eating that is made east of the atchafalaya basin. The list has unforgivingly omitted Billeaud’s in Broussard and any of the Mecca’s in Eunice.
