Whatever sounds appealing to me on the menu is what I typically get.

Haven't been in awhile but I was always a fan of the Szechuan alligator, and the potstickers

A mop and Clorox wipes.

Seriously last time I went the place didn't feel clean at all. Note it was a year or two ago but was bad enough that we've never been back. Was a regular there.

Anything Tong Cho...although the Wongs operations are a shell of the past greatness.

That's terrible. The Mandeville location?

It's a nice building, and I've never been in there and felt like it was dirty.

But the place needs to be remodeled. Keep the tables, but remodel the joint.

I've got a Vietnamese guy that works with me. I always try to go to Trey Yuen for lunch when he's with me and he refuses to go and hates Chinese food and people for that matter. I never knew there was an issue between the two nationalities.

I prefer NS Empress over Trey Yuen, but TY is damn good IMO.

I feel like it would have to be.

I lived very close to the Hammond location for a year in graduate school, and the food was lousy every time.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. We went with a group of 8 last night. We went ordered a couple of appetizer trays and went heavy on the egg rolls and potstickers. All were delicious. For the entrees we went with the steak special, sweet and sour chicken, tong cho platter, schezuan beef, and some combo fried rice. All the entrees were very good but the steak special and the tong cho really stood out.

Whoever said bring the Clorox wipes was right though. While our table was clean, the chair I was sitting in had some sticky substance all over it. Im guessing it is from kids being messy eaters and dropping/spilling food everywhere. They should really look at wiping the chairs down every once in a while.

The tab was very reasonable and came out to about $28 per person pre tip. Everyone had at least one or two adult beverages and we ordered a ton of food. I love the over the top ambiance of the place as well. Overall a great experience and will return when on the Northshore.
