Had it in Houston by Rice University for the first time last month and it is really good, ten times better than Izzo's or any other taco place in Baton Rouge. No wait since school is out.
I would not wait in line for it though.
I'll let the newness wear off first.

Same at the one in Lake Charles - line was out the door.
With LSU in session I assume this one will stay very busy but the problem is going to be location as there is no spots to park around it.

Their queso is like herion, but outside of that I don't find anything too remarkable about Torchy's these days.

It will print money in BR.

Velvet taco > torchy's. Torchy's is really good, but velvet is the king of millennial tacos.

They opened one in Shreveport right when corona hit. Still got swamped so heavily they had to close for a while to catch their breath.

I picked up an order of carnitas family pack, and it was damned good. Good value too. I’m not a big fan of queso, but they are famous for it, so got that too. Well, hell, it was really good.

Good stuff for a chain. Still haven’t eaten inside, and their drinks are high as hell, but the food is worth trying.

I’ve gotten breakfast tacos from there every Saturday morning since they opened back up

Hopefully the Torchy’s in BR will take some of the weekend heat off Kolache Kitchen.

I love a ranch hand with a Bloody Mary. Good amount of food on one taco. Here in Houston bloodies are $3.50 all weekend so thats a plus.
