I agree. I was sort of shocked that they did that and then thought nothing of it.

So restaurant wars was a 1/2 block away from me and I never knew it. That's ridiculous. Walk my dog everyday by there multiple times per night.

I think that bitch sabotaged the thing to get justin out. No one that has experience running a front of house could possibly frick up that badly. What pissed me off is that food wasn't the emphasis here. It became more about who was less of a cluster frick.

So glad justin got to stay and Sara's worthless, negative, know it all arse is gone.

Very close call there for Justin. I'm surprised he didn't throw her under the bus more. I think I would have. Sara has been very bossy with a snooty attitude, but she hasn't appeared very capable and I've had the feeling that she's a bit lazy. Her behavior and the way she carried herself, spoke to patrons etc... was pretty bad. A big turnoff and walking away while they were trying to talk with her was bizarre. She turned off after she got the bare minimum of the job done. She sure likes to boss, but she isn't much of one. I'm glad she's gone. I'd suggest she get rid of the hairdo and come up with a new schtick, too.

I hope Justin can dig himself out of the hole he dug. He didn't seem to realize his dish was dry. He looked surprised. I wonder if he tasted it before serving it. I was fiddling in the kitchen listening and not watching a little, so I may have missed if he tasted it.

If Nina had been on the winning team, it sounded like her dish might have won for the night...again.

Yea Sara has that overly snootie foodie attitude. Waaaaaaay to into herself and her style. That team was doomed from the get go. They had all the top end cooks with fierce egos. I think Carlos should have been lower on the block for mangling fish like he did. The whole problem on that team was Sara. Constantly throwing her bullshite in there and not doing her job, making sure she got it all right. She only explained her dish unprovoked. That is basic stuff on top chef. Me thinks she tried to tank it on the assumption that they ALWAYS axe the executive chef.

I haven't watched before. Does the exec chef on the losing team usually go?

Typically that's what I heard and I think what was said on the show. I'm not certain on that though.

It seems like it's 50/50 between the exec. chef or the FOH person always going home.

Yeah, typically the exec chef usually wins or goes home unless someone else completely screws things up for everybody like last night.

Couple of things doomed Rosie the Riveter:

1) Remember all the judges, save Padma, are still cooks at heart. There has always been slight tension between cooks who do the heavy lifting and front of house staff. I think the judges all knew that the restaurant had more problems front of house than back of house.

2) Sara giving a verbal fire for the judges food.

3) The non explanation of any dish but hers.

4 She was wearing a dish towel on her head.

Exactly, as soon as the judges began deliberating after hearing their stories. David Chang immediately came to the "cooks" defense. This went a long way in keeping Justin safe. IMO.

Final nails in Sara's coffin.

Yes, but she's so hip. Did you know she was Exe Chef for Wolfgang? Just ask her. Must have been the WP Rockabilly Diner.

Kind of hard to get the orders right if you aren't getting the correct tickets. Seems like it should have been pretty easy for the front of the house considering their limited menu also.

I thought Justin may be going home after last night because of his position but thought Sara did a worse job. Justin's dish was also not good according to the judges which led me to believe it may have been him. I think the judges made a good choice. She has been one of the weaker ones the whole series.

She only mentioned she worked for Wolfgang 5 times per episode. I wonder which airport cafe she manned?

She gone!!!!

Thank christ .. should have been off a while ago. She's so fricking obnoxious. Justin also showed a bad side of himself last night with his lack of poise and professionalism when trying to run the kitchen. They sent the right person home though.

Exactly. If I heard that one more time, I might have had to delete the show before it was over.

She was awful. Awful. After watching her on the show, I wouldn't give her a job mopping the floor. I just wouldn't want her attitude in my business. She could bring down an entire team and set the tone, a bad one, for the entire team.

I was concerned that Justin might go because he IS an exec chef and they might judge him more harshly because he's got the experience, but he also gets to hire his own folks and I guarantee Sara wouldn't be working in his restaurant. In 24 hours, you have to depend on folks to do what they say they will and can do and Sara clearly can't work the front of any house. I'm convinced she's lazy. She can bark out orders and that's it.

see i don't think he did. the obvious tension was that sara couldn't "take orders" from justin. that's what it really boiled down to.

The other team set their egos aside and let the philly guy take the lead, and it worked perfectly. Sara was the de facto cancer on that team. They didn't really have a good cheery front person. All of those people were the top notch chefs, but lack in the super friendly chatty aspect.

Most kitchens in the middle of a bad service have very little resemblance to anything poised and professional.

At one point, Justin tried to get things back to a positive about putting out good food. I agree that Sara caused the domino effect of the demise of the restaurant. I still can't believe she didn't turn in written orders for the judge's table and she turned her back on them as soon as her minimal duty was done at the table. It was bizarre.
