Pizza Delicious down at 4 is hilarious

I was really close to putting Blaze ahead of PD, but I knew people would focus on that rather than on the body of the essay. On the average, I agree, a Blaze Pizza well done is better than Pizza Delicious, which has garnered quite an inflated reputation in recent years. Is this because for most people it takes an effort to get to Bywater and that extra effort and almost exotic character of the journey gives it a mythical taste? It's a solid pizza, certainly, but it's not great. PD wouldn't make a top 10 list back in the 80s when you had Dino's, Mr. Pizza and multiple Tower of Pizzas, each of which was significantly better than what's served at the current Tower. PD has marketed their product marvelously, starting with scarcity and continuing with its isolated location in an area that ensured it would get national attention. Throw PD out in Kenner run by Sal and Joey making the same exact pie, and 90% of this forum would never have heard of it.

Lord save me from people who think driving to Bywater an effort filled, exotic journey in the year 2019.

I do not like Papa John's. I've never been to that one either.

It is entertaining reading some of these people criticize my posts here when their only contributions, and I use that liberally as in adding to the word volume on the forum, is telling us what they are eating and drinking each day. No thought, no analysis, no criticism. That sort of drivel is better suited for the OT than the Food Board.

Healthy stuff?

Seriously man, if you eat half the pizza you claim to, you have to be one out of shape SOB

Pizza is a rather healthy food if you do not eat it in excess. Sauce, cheese, vegetables on a plate of bread. Not much different from a sandwich, except the red sauce is much healthier than mayo. I walk on average 60 miles a week, so that probably helps keep away the fat.

Is Venezia still really good? Haven't been in there since 1992.

A sandwich isn’t typically very healthy either.

But you’re trying to argue that pizza is “rather healthy” so why am I even bothering.

Have you had R&O’s? I feel it is highly underrated. I mean not dominos good but pretty good.

I have Blaze up high too. Fire oven, pick your toppings, perfect size.

Shocked we can't get one place that serves new York style pizza correctly though.
