Would you ever order steak (filet) to go at restaurants like Ruth’s or Fleming? Is it even worth it?

I’ve ordered plenty sirloins from Outback to go when traveling with no time or energy for a nice local meal.

I would never pay for prime steak at prime prices and bring it to my room or home. The price includes the atmosphere.

FTR, I’m not ordering from Fleming unless somebody else invited me.

ETA: I’d only order filet if they were out of everything else…in any circumstance. But to each his own.

No. I would rather buy a good prime steak and cook it myself.

If your company is paying for it, yes

Steaks at restaurants are so overpriced it’s ridiculous

Agree with this.

How to re-heat a medium rare steak once it's cooled off though? Would you just eat as is?

Texas roadhouse family deals during covid were great. 3 ribeye's, 6 sides and 3 DOZEN rolls for like $45. Sometimes they were out of that and had 4 sirloin, 8 sides and 4 DOZEN rolls. It was a ridiculous amount of bread. It wasn't GREAT but it was edible and a good price.

During the height of COVID we did it a couple times at some high end steakhouses here (Hals is one).

It was better than I expected. I wouldn't make a practice of it.
