called them out on facebook about the names and they said they were leaving it up to the fans. Smh. Poor business decision.

Good call on that. I cannot seem to figure out if 225 picked those 7 names or if Tin Roof picked them. I still think that Porter Call is the worst f-ing choice. Luckily that is losing.

Not a huge fan of catchy names for a beer. I like just the original style name for the beer, but I understand that probably doesn't sell beer. I hate it when I can't figure what the style of beer is by looking at the name.

I would call it Tin Roof Coffee Porter, but that's just me.

Let me know when nola brewing names a beer after baton rouge.

Better yet, find me any brewery in the country that names a beer after a city 70 miles away.

Yeah it sounds like a huge ordeal that makes me irate.

If Abita ever is associated with a city outside of Abita Springs, I'll lose it.

Where did I purport to say that I'm aware of that happening with another beer. I simply stated that I would understand it from a branding perspective. They are a business. I'm simply wondering why you care about it so much. Because associating the beer with nola affects you in some negative way?

It affects me none. Show me where i said it affected me negatively. I disagree with you about the branding aspect though. They are billing themselves as baton rouge's only brewery but naming beers after new orleans?

Seems like a smart plan to me from a business perspective. Why wouldn't you want to focus on two close towns to increase your revenue stream? I consider Abita a south Louisiana beer and choose to support it because of that. I'm not concerned if they purport to be from Abita Springs or are fine with people associating them with another city.

Just voted again from home, looks like Parade Grounds has a decent lead now.

Im from nj and follow a bunch of new breweries there. A few are less than 20 miles away from nyc. So by your logic, they should have a times square stout and central park porter. I mean, why not associate with the big city to get more revenue?
